Sofia little
Chair
Sofia Little is a fourth-year Global Studies and Political Science double major from Palo Alto, CA. She has been doing Model UN since her freshman year of high school and fell in love with the debate and discussion of international diplomacy, which drove her to continue into college and where she found some of her best friends. Outside of MUN, you can catch Sofia at the scene shop building sets for the school productions, reading at the beach, and drinking boba/coffee. Her recent study abroad experience in Fall of 2024 in Rio de Janeiro inspired her regain fluency in Portuguese and someday move back to Brazil. After graduation, Sofia hopes to join the Peace Corps, hoping it will be life-altering and help her figure out what she wants to do for the rest of her life.

Ruby Eilers
Crisis Director
Turk-hey delegates! My name is Ruby, and I’ll be your UNSC CD here at SBIMUN! I am a second year political science major from San Francisco, and while I love being a city girl, I have found such un-kurditional love for Santa Barbara. Some of my favorite things to do here are hanging out with friends, locking in at random places on campus, and exploring all the cafes in IV. We’re looking for diplomatic yet creative solutions to the issues at hand in Rojava, and hope delegates embrace their abs-kurdity in committee. Come up with solutions, and backroom, that are absolutely un-kurd of!Good luck: it’s a rojavalution!

Sammy Ali
Co-Chair
Sammy is a second-year Financial Mathematics and Statistics major from Cupertino, California. He loves to go on hikes, climb rocks, and mourn his stolen mountain bike who has accompanied him on many joyous rides. He is also a massive Pokémon fan who has played most of the main series games since Generation 6 and currently frequents the top 500 leaderboard on Pokémon Showdown Generation 9 Random Battles. The only thing that trumps his love for Pokémon is his love for his Syrian culture and heritage, which is the reason he chose to chair this year’s UNSC as opposed to the Pokémon committee. Fascinated by Syria’s history of cultural diversity, Sammy chose to spotlight the Kurdish people for this UNSC in an attempt to highlight their frequently overlooked struggles and learn more about his country’s people. He hopes that this committee promotes coexistence between Middle Eastern ethnicities in a time of tension, hate, and war. Sammy hopes that delegates enjoy this committee as much as he did preparing it!
